We want to say THANK YOU for 10 great years of serving the Big Country by showcasing Hometown Living at its’ Best. Having deep roots in the area for eight generations, I can honestly say there is no place like home! (Pictured left is my darling Grandmother Dorthy celebrating her 95th birthday in September.) We have had new and old friends contribute to the pages of each publication and it is truly an honor.
Our family has grown by three in the past
10 years and the saying is true…The days are long, but the years are short. The past decade has flown by! We had so much fun visiting our archives and reminiscing on so many interesting people and local events; it was very difficult to select this short list of features to update our readers on from the past ten years.
We hope, you too, enjoy reading the then and now of the articles highlighted this issue. Fall is one of my favorite times of year, to be fair I love each season for what it has to offer, but who can’t get excited about the cool weather, sporting events, & holiday parties. My kids started talking about Halloween costumes on September 1st while still swimming. This season I think we will all be a bit more present and thankful after the surprising months 2020 has offered us thus far.
Here is to making the most of each day….which was just a part of the advice offered by Mrs. Estes in her article, 100 years Young. I pray I have the wisdom to heed her words and to make the most of each moment. Here is to another 10 plus wonderful years serving the community through each page of Abilene Living Magazine.
